Who are Clearpay?

Clearpay is a payment service where customers can instantly make purchases – which could be up to £1000 – and then pay for them over a course of four interest-free automatic payments made every two weeks (late fees apply).

The company offering this service is Clearpay Finance Ltd.

Am I eligible to pay using Clearpay?

To shop using Clearpay, you need:

• To be over the age of 18
• To have an email address and telephone number
• To have a UK issued debit card
• To be able to enter a legally binding contract
• To be living in the UK
• To have a verified and valid ID

Will Clearpay affect my credit score? 

Clearpay performs a soft credit check with credit reference agencies to determine if you are eligible. This does not impact your credit score.

How do I pay with Clearpay? 

When you get to the payment page, select Clearpay as a payment method and you will be directed to the Clearpay website.

If it’s your first time shopping with Clearpay, you’ll need to enter some personal details such as name, date of birth, mobile phone number and home address. If you have previously used Clearpay, simply log into your Clearpay account.

Once approved, and you are happy with the instalment schedule, Clearpay will take the first instalment from the UK card you supplied when signing up.

Once accepted, your goods will be sent to you as they would with any other payment method. 

How does the Clearpay payment schedule work?

The total cost of your order will be divided by Clearpay into 4 instalments, each of which is due every two weeks. The initial payment must be made by customers at the time of purchase.

Before you complete your purchase, the precise amounts and due dates will be displayed for your approval.

You can log into your Clearpay account to make extra early payments if you would like to do so before they are due – Clearpay will adjust the amount owed accordingly.

To view your payment schedule or to make a payment prior to the following due date, you can simply log into your Clearpay account at any time.

Is my payment information safe?

Payment information is processed securely by our payment gateway provider. All transactions take place via secured connections that adhere to the latest industry standards and security protocols.

What happens if I cancel or return my order?

Once the merchant has notified us of the cancellation/return and we’ve accepted it, Clearpay will cancel any future scheduled payments as well as refund any amounts due.

What happens if I don’t pay for my order?

Clearpay will automatically attempt to collect payment for your pay in 4 instalment purchase from the card you entered when you signed up to Clearpay.

If you miss a scheduled payment, Clearpay will give you until 11pm on the following day to process the payment yourself. If repayment is unsuccessful, you will incur a £6 late fee to the instalment and a further £6 will be added if the missed payment is not made within 7 days. Your order will incur a total late fee of £6 if your purchase is less than £24. If your purchase is £24 or more, the total late fees will not be more than 25% of the order total or £36, whichever is less.

Your ability to use Clearpay in the future may be impacted if a debt from Clearpay is turned over to a debt collection agency. Please use Clearpay responsibly, as we urge you to do.

I have asked for a refund. How will I be refunded?

Refunds from Clearpay will be issued back to the card supplied to Clearpay.

Is there really no interest applied and no extra fees when payments are made on time? 

Nope, Clearpay are not like some traditional finance companies. As long as you pay your scheduled payments on time you will only pay the price advertised.

When will my payments be due? 

Payments are automatically scheduled to be taken every 2 weeks.

You’ll pay 25% of your full purchase upfront, then 25% every 2 weeks for the next 6 weeks.

If I use Clearpay, when will my items be delivered?

Like any order from Herne Bay Domestics, orders are delivered within our usual delivery times. This is as soon as the first instalment has been paid.

Is there a minimum/ maximum amount I can spend using Clearpay in a single transaction?

Yes, your total order value must be between £1 and £1000.
